A Shopping Cart
We can design a simple shopping cart as part of our design brief, or incorporate a more sophisticated version under licence from RomanCart. They offer four levels with prices ranging from £59.99 to £249.99 per year. If you chose RomanCart you will be required to open an account with them. We are happy to discuss your requirements and offer the most competitive solution.
A Payment Gateway
Basically a virtual POS terminal that allows you to take payments from credit and debit cards and links to your shopping cart. We have selected four companies that provide robust, secure and affordable payment gateways, but the final choice is yours.
Costs, usually a percentage of each transaction, vary between the different providers and some set minimum monthly charges and twelve month contracts. We have prepared a general guide to the annual costs but will prepare a tailor made comparison based upon your specific business projections.
A Merchant Account
A Merchant Account or Merchant ID (MID) is needed to process the payments made on your web site. This can be provided either by your own Bank or by a payment gateway supplier.
Please note: The cost of of an online shopping cart (e.g. RomanCart), should you choose this option, and a Payment Gateway Provider will be in addition to our quote for the design and hosting of your e-Commerce web site. Normally you will be expected to register with your preferred supplier(s), and all payments will be made direct to them.
